Our story

Aun Cha was started by a Japanese woman living in Vancouver, driven by a love for matcha—not just for its taste, but for the quiet ritual it brings to everyday life. A moment to slow down, reconnect, and feel present.

The name Aun Cha (阿吽茶) comes from the Japanese concept of Aun (阿吽) — the inhale and exhale, the silent harmony between two forces. It symbolizes balance, and the unspoken connection between people, nature, and spirit. — and Cha (茶), meaning tea. Together, it reflects connection, harmony, and mindfulness through tea.

After experiencing the vibrant flavor and health benefits of high-quality matcha straight from Japan, we knew we had to share it. Too often, matcha at cafes lack the freshness, color, and umami that define the real thing. That’s why we work directly with trusted farms.

From Japan, from our hands to yours — we hope Aun Cha brings a little peace to your everyday.
